Satellite Imagery

3-D perspective views and VRML worlds

This view from Space of a forested area in the mountains of British Columbia is produced by merging color from a multispectral satellite image with the higher spatial detail from a Panchromatic sensor.

Imagery from Space can be combined with elevation data to produce perspective views that provide new insights into natural resource conditions.

Advanced computer software even allows us to fly through the data.

Read below to learn how.

If you would like to fly-through this area using your own web browser, than download and install "Cosmo Player," the plug-in that allows you to control VRML, or Virtual Reality Modelling Language, worlds. Once installed you can proceed to the following site to test your skills at 3D flight on the Web. You'll be amazed at what you see.

Download and ... let's go flying through the mountains around PERRY RIDGE !

The Fly-through is produced with LandForm C3 software.
You can download a trial version and purchase LandForm C3 from SWS.

[ NOTE: The VRML web pages are large, close to a Megabyte, and can take a few minutes or longer to download. ]
